Are Your Electrical Appliances 100% Safe?

PAT testing is short for Portable Appliance Testing and is the term used to describe the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use. Most electrical safety defects can be found by visual examination but some types of defect can only be found by testing.

The Health & Safety Executive states that 25% of all reportable electrical accidents involve portable appliances. Health and safety regulations, therefore, place a legal responsibility on individuals and businesses including letting agents and landlords and require that all electrical appliances supplied or hired (including those supplied by the Letting Agent in tenanted properties) are safe and maintained to prevent harm.
